NFF Announces CAF A-License, B-License Coaching Courses for Nigerian Coaches

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced plans to organise a CAF B-License refresher course and a full CAF A-License coaching programme as part of efforts to improve coaching quality and technical growth in Nigerian football.
The NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, said the programme is aimed at helping coaches develop their knowledge and skills.
“This is part of the NFF’s plan to improve the standard of coaching across the country,” Eguavoen stated.
The federation explained that the CAF B-License refresher course will hold from June 20 to June 24, 2026, while the CAF A-License programme will run in six different modules between August 2, 2026, and February 7, 2027.
The coaching programme is seen as a major step for Nigerian football after the country was recently readmitted into the CAF A-License system following nine years outside the programme.
According to the NFF, only active top-level coaches working with national teams or clubs in the NPFL, NNL, NWFL, and NLO are eligible to apply.
Applicants must also have a CAF B coaching certificate, good English communication skills, and basic computer knowledge with access to a laptop or tablet throughout the programme.
Interested candidates are expected to submit a medical report confirming they are physically and mentally fit, along with a curriculum vitae and a reference letter.
The federation added that only 25 coaches will be selected for the CAF A-License course after completing pre-assessment tests and taking part in the CAF B refresher programme.
Successful candidates will then be given access to the CAF CMS platform to continue the licensing process.
The pre-course assessments for both programmes will test candidates in game analysis, reading and writing, presentation ability, and computer knowledge. The assessments will take place through both online and physical sessions between June 1 and June 23, 2026.
The NFF also confirmed that Nigerian applicants for the CAF A-License programme will pay N3 million, while foreign applicants will pay 3,000 US dollars. The CAF B refresher course fee for Nigerian coaches has been fixed at N700,000.
Applications for the CAF A-License programme will close on May 31, 2026.
