NFF confirm Randy Waldrum is no longer Super Falcons Head Coach

The NFF have confirmed the Randy Waldrum is no longer Super Falcons Head coach, and declared the position vacant. SportsRation reports.

This confirmation was contained in a communique after the Nigeria Football Federation meeting this weekend in Uyo.

“The NFF Board resolved to be thorough and ensure meritocracy in the composition of new coaching crews for the various Women National Teams (Super Falcons, Falconets and Flamingos) within the shortest possible time, as the Super Falcons and Falconets have crucial qualifying fixtures for major championships in a matter of weeks.” the statement read.

After guiding the Super Falcons to an impressive showing at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, American born gaffer Randy Waldrum had declared that he wants to stay with the Super Falcons.

That call was backed by Ex Nigerian International Garba Lawal and a large section of Nigerian football followers who were pleased with the Super Falcons World Cup display.

Waldrum’s chances of a contract renewal with the Super Falcons is slim in view of his pre World Cup face-off with the Nigeria Football Federation.

In the meantime, Randy Waldrum is engaged at work with US’ based NWSL side Pittsburgh Panthers, a role he has always maintained alongside the Falcons job.
