NFF confirms Nigeria v Algeria friendly

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will play Carthage Eagles of Algeria in an exhibition match on September 27.

NFF announced the friendly game in a post on the team’s Twitter page on Monday.

The match will take place in Oran, Algeria, with the exact stadium and the kick-off time yet to be announced.

Nigeria and Algeria will use the game to access their players as both teams will not be playing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The game will also serve as a preparation for both teams when the African Cupnof Nations Qualifiers return.

Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau in a double-header clash between March 20 and 28, 2023.

The qualifiers were initially fixed for September 2022 before CAF announced a revision of its calendar to “make room for the African nations that have qualified for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in November/December 2022 to prepare adequately.”

The AFCON billed to hold in Ivory Coast has also been moved to January and February 2024.
