NFF Congratulates Paul Bassey and Isaac Danladi on New Government Appointments
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Etubom Paul Bassey and Chief Isaac Danladi, two prominent figures in Nigerian football, on their recent appointments as commissioners by the Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa State governments, respectively.
“These appointments are well-deserved recognition of the significant contributions these two outstanding men have made to the development of football in their states and the country as a whole over the past decade,” said NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, on Tuesday. “Etubom Bassey and Chief Danladi have dedicated many years to Nigerian football with great passion and commitment, and we believe they will continue to serve with the same dedication in their new roles.”
Bassey, a seasoned communication expert, has had a long career in football, starting as a reporter and working his way up to become a newspaper publisher. He has also served as a member of the Media Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and later as a CAF and FIFA General Coordinator. For over ten years, Bassey has been the Chairman of Akwa United FC, as well as a special adviser to the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports. He is known for ensuring comfort and support for players and officials of the national teams during international matches in Uyo. Bassey takes charge of the Minsitry of Sports In Akwa Ibom.
Chief Isaac Danladi, who recently retired as a permanent secretary in the Nasarawa State Civil Service, has also made a significant impact on Nigerian football. He served as Chairman of Nasarawa United FC for over a decade, leaving a lasting legacy in the sport. He is now Commisioner for Environment and Natural Resources In Nasarawa State.
The NFF believes that both Bassey and Danladi will continue to bring their experience and passion for football to their new government roles, further contributing to the growth of the sport in Nigeria.
