NFF lauds transparency in Nigeria Pitch awards
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has praised the transparency and credibility of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, emphasizing these qualities as key reasons for the enduring partnership between the NFF and the award organizers.
At a press conference in Abuja, NFF Director of Communications Ademola Olajire highlighted that the integrity of the voting process has been crucial to the award’s success. He commended the organizers for their commitment to transparency, accountability, and credibility.
The 10th edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards took place on June 8 at the Ibom Icon Resort, Uyo, where Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala were named the King and Queen of the Pitch, respectively.
The organizers acknowledged the significant role Nigerian sports journalists have played in the success of the awards since its inception in 2012. Shina Phillips, President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, expressed gratitude to the sports media for their dedication and support. He emphasised that the awards were designed with core values of transparency and integrity, ensuring that decisions have remained free of controversy over the past decade.
