Nigeria 1 Canada 2: Terrible five minutes defending condemn Falcons to defeat in Murcia
Terrible five minutes defending condemned the Super Falcons of Nigeria to a 2-1 defeat to Canada at the Pinatar Arena, Murcia in their last friendly game in their Spain tour.
Desire Oparanozie put the Falcons in front in the 26th of the first half for the only goal of the first 45 minutes of play.
Desire Oparanozie received a pass from Uchenna Kanu dribbled her marker before taking her time to convert with just the keeper to beat.
The Falcons started the second half entirely different like they did in the first. In the space of five minutes they conceded two very cheap goals. Both goals came from crosses from Canada’s right flank, Nigeria’s left side.
Both goals followed same pattern, cross from the flank completely left undealth with and pounced on by the Canadians.
Beckie Janine pulled back for Canada in the 48th minute of the game before Schmidt scored the winning goal in the 53rd minute just seven minutes after the restart.
The defeat completed Super Falcons Spain tour while the win increased Canada’s unbeaten streak to six.
