Nigeria 4 Libya 0 (agg 4-2): Victor Osimhen scores three as Olympics Eagles overturn deficit to make final qualifying round
Victor Osimhen was the hero as he scored three goals to help Olympics Eagles trash Libya U-23 4-0 at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Monday to qualify for the next round of AFCON U-23 qualifiers.
Olympics Eagles needed to win by at least three unreplied goals but got four goals in a game they could have won by as many as 7-0.
Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 34th minute of the game for the only goal of the first half.
He added his second in 67th minutes after a mistake from the Libyan goalie.
Osimhen completed his hattrick in the 81st minute when he raced into a pass and finished off with aplomb for Nigeria’s third.
Osimhen was again involved in Nigeria’s fourth goal as he backed heel a pass to Okereke after Bonaventure had dribbled Libyans in the area, Okereke tapped home for Nigeria’s fourth.
The goal sealed Nigeria’s qualifier into the final stages of AFCON U-23 qualifiers where they will play the winner of the clash between Sudan and Kenya.
