Nigeria 4 Montenegro 2: Olusegun Olakunle scores three as Golden Eaglets return to winning ways

Olusegun Olakunle scored three goals to help Nigeria’s Golden Eaglet win 4-2 against Montenegro in the UEFA Assist International Tournament in Antalya, Turkey on Thursday.

After a shocking 3-0 defeat in their first game against Senegal, Manu Garba boys needed a response and they did in grandstyle with a convincing victory over their European counterparts.

Olusegun Olakunle scored three goals and Akinsola Babtunde scored one to restore Golden Eaglets chances of making it to the knockout stages.

A win for Nigeria against Angola in their last game will guarantee a place in the knockout stages regardless of the outcome of the game involving Senegal and Montenegro.

The UEFA Assist International Tournament is a test tourney for the Golden Eaglets who are the WAFU Zone B champoins as they prepare for the upcoming 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The Golden Eaglets are drawn against hosts Tanzania, Uganda, Angola in group A of 2019 U-17 AFCON which is scheduled to hold from Sunday, April 14 till Sunday, April 28 2019.
