Nigeria 4 Slovakia 3: Anan Imo scores the winner after Super Falcons throw away 3 goals lead in space of 9 minutes in Cyprus

Anam Imo scored the winner to help Nigeria to a 4-3 win against Slovakia at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, Larnaca in their Cyprus Women’s Cup second game.

Nigeria were looking very good at the end of the 45 minute as they were up with three goals and were by far the better side.

Rita Chikwelu opened the scoring in the 8th minute of the game, Oshinachi Ohale increased the tally to two in the 28th minute before Rita Chikwelu completed her brace with her 38th minute strike to give Super Falcons a comfortbale 3-0 lead at half time.

The lead was reduced and the gap bridged within the space of nine minute when Jana Vojteková pulled one back for the Slovaks in 67th minute.

A penalty converted by Lucia Haršanyová in the 72nd minute further reduced the deficit to one.

Another penalty converted by Lucia Haršanyová in the 76th minute meant the scoreline were leveled within the space of nine minute.

But Anan Imo pounced a good ball from Asisat Oshoala in the 82nd minute to restore the Super Falcons lead, the goal sealed the game and ensured Nigeria won the maximum points.

Up next for Nigeria is a clash against another European side Belgium.
