Nigeria 4 Zambia 0: Shepolopolo to cheap for Super Falcons

The Shepolopolo of Zambia were no match for the Super Eagles who ran away with a 4-0 win at the ongoing African Women Cup of Nations Ghana.

After their shock 1-0 loss to South Africa in their opening match on Saturday, the defending champions knew anything short of victory wikl send them back home and they duely delivered.

Could have been more on the day the Falcons had the right to score at least eight goals but could only settle for four goals.

Desire Oparanozie, Francesca Ordega, Ajibade and Amarachi Okoronkwo scored all the goals on the day Asisat Oshoala had a bad day in the office after squandering chances upon chances.

The first goal came for Nigeria in the 42nd minute, when Desire Oparanozie scored from Francesca Ordega’s pass.

The other goals were scored in th second half after several chances had been missed by the team.

The second was scored by Francesca Ordega in the 69th minute after the Atletico Madrid attacker scored from the rebound of Desire Oparanozie’s shot.

Just four minutes after Rasheedat Ajibade came on for Desire Oparanozie she scored falcons’ 3rd goal in the 75th minute. Sonia Okobi created the goal.

Another substitute, Amarachi Okoronkwo completed the 4-0 rout with the last kick of the game.

The 4-0 restored Nigeria’s hopes of winning the title again.

In the other game involving our group members, South Africa trashed Equtorial Quinea 7-1 to maintain their winnig streak and stay top with 6 points while Nigeria reamns 2nd.
