Nigeria Drawn Against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in 2025 AFCON Group Stage
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group C for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they will face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. The draw for the 35th edition of the tournament took place in Rabat, Morocco, on 27 January 2025, setting the stage for an exciting competition in December.
As one of the tournament’s strong contenders following their runner-up finish in 2023, Nigeria will look to make amends for their narrow loss to Ivory Coast in the final. The group stage draw presents a mix of challenges for the Super Eagles, with Tunisia, a traditional powerhouse in African football, standing out as a key rival. Uganda and Tanzania, while less experienced at this level, will also provide tough competition, with both teams capable of springing surprises.
The tournament will kick off on 21 December 2025, with the final match set to take place on 18 January 2026 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Nigeria, hoping to secure their fourth AFCON title, will need to top their group to avoid tougher knockout round fixtures.
Other notable teams in the competition include defending champions Ivory Coast, Egypt, and Senegal, with all eyes on the host nation Morocco, who will also be looking to claim their first continental title.
