Nigeria know group stage opponents for WAFU U-17 tournament

Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have now known their opponents for the group stage of the WAFU B U-17 Championship in Ghana.

Nigeria is drawn in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, Togo, and Niger.

As earlier reported by SportsRation, the Nigerian lads have begun training in camp, signaling their readiness to compete in the upcoming tournament next month.

Meanwhile, host nation Ghana will contend with Benin Republic and Cote D’Ivoire in Group A.

For the Golden Eaglets, Coach Manu Garba has a pool of 51 players in Abuja to select the best legs for the WAFU U-17 Championship .

According to Manu Garba, majority of these prospects have already undergone the mandatory MRI age test to ascertain their eligibility for participation in the championship, slated to commence on May 15 in Ghana.o

Cach Manu Garba supervised the initial training sessions on Thursday, setting the tone for rigorous preparations ahead. Additionally, efforts are underway to finalize the composition of the backroom staff to support the team’s campaign.

Nigeria enters the tournament as the defending champions, aiming to replicate their success from two years ago when they clinched the WAFU B U17 title by defeating Burkina Faso in the championship finale held in Cape Coast, Ghana
