Nigeria Open: Aruna Quadri Not Sure Of Defending His Title

Africa’s and Nigeria’s number one Table Tennis player, Aruna Quadri says he is not assuring Nigerians of defending his Nigeria Open title at the 2019 ITTF Challenge Plus Open in Lagos

Speaking at the pre-tournament press conference, Quadri said he hopes to win while giving his 100% performance but he is not assuring Nigerians of victory.

“I hope to retain my title but I know it won’t be easy; it will be very tough. The only assurance I can give is I’ll be a very good ambassador & will give 100%. I’m not going to give any assurances, I can win or lose.” Aruna Quadri on the pressure of winning the title.

Quadri lost in the semifinal of the 2019 ITTF Africa Cup to Egypt’s Ommar Assar and will hope to go a step better in the Nigeria Open.
