Nigeria to know 2019 AFCON opponents as Iwobi backs Eagles to win the title

The date for the 2019 AFCON draw has been fixed as Nigeria hope for the best ahead of the biggest football event in Africa.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will know the countries in their group when the draws are made at CAF headquarters in Cairo on Friday 12th of April.

Eagles who are returning into the competition for the first time since 2013 when they won in South Africa will be hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have been tipped to beat Egypt, Senegal to the 2019 AFCON title by Mr. Chuba Iwobi.

Media friendly Chuba Iwobi who is the father of Eagles’ Alex Iwobi is confident Nigeria can win her fourth continental title in Egypt this June.

He explained that with the right blend of players and motivation Nigeria will make it four AFCON title at the end of the tournament.

“I believe we have what it takes to win the AFCON; this team have been together for quite a while and the coaches know the strength and weaknesses of each position already.

“For me personally, with the right blend of players and commitment we should be able to win the trophy. It’s too early to predict though but I believe there is a possibility because we have the players,” he concluded.
