The Super Eagles of Nigeria have begun full preparations for their opening game of the 2025 Unity Cup Invitational Tournament, where they will face long-time rivals Ghana on Wednesday, 28th May, at the Gtech Community Stadium in London.

All invited players, including Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Papa Mustapha Daniel, have arrived at the team’s camp located at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Ealing, as new head coach Eric Chelle looks to continue his tenure on a strong note.

The highly anticipated match against Ghana will take place at Brentford FC’s home ground and is expected to reignite one of Africa’s most famous football rivalries.

This Unity Cup fixture will serve as a key test for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria’s second match of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday, 31st May, also at the Gtech Community Stadium. Their next opponent will depend on the outcome of their clash with Ghana and the result of the other opening fixture between Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, which takes place on 27th May.

Ghana coach, Chris Hughton, has unveiled the 27-man squad that will represent the nation in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
