Nigeria vs Thailand: Super Falcons eye 7th place finish in Cyprus

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are out to claim the 7th place position when they tackle Thailand women team at the Tassos Markou Stadium in their last game of the 2019 Cyprus Womens Cup.

Thomas Dennerby side missed out on a podium finish after losing two games and winning just one of their games in Cyprus.

Surprise 4-1 loss to Austria in thir first game and a heart-breaking 1-0 defeat to Belgium in their last game rendered their 4-3 win against Slovakia in their second game almost inconsequential.

They now have the opportunity to finish the 12-nation tournament as the best 7th team if they can squeeze one past their opponents, Thailand who like Nigeria will be participating at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The 7-8th match will be played by 2 pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria are in group A of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup alongside hosts France, Norway and South Korea, the competition will run between June 7th to July 7th.
