Nigerian Heavyweight Ajagba set to face biggest test of career in Wilder-Fury trilogy fight
Ex-Olympian in Fury's camp as sparring partner
Nigerian-born Heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba has been confirmed to face undefeated Cuban pugilist Frank Sanchez in a Ten-Round bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 24th, the night of the Goliaths when Tyson Fury and America’s Deontay Wilder will do battle in the main event for a third time.
Ajagba is undefeated in 15 professional bouts, with 12 of his wins coming by way of knockouts. He is most fondly remembered for his exploits at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where his punching power first became evident when he represented Nigeria at the games. He turned professional afterwards and is yet to lose a single fight. He comes up against another undefeated boxer in Cuba’s Sanchez, whose record of 18 wins with 13 of them coming by knockout, is as impressive. Ajagba is currently ranked as the 9th best heavyweight on the books of the WBC, with his opponent Sanchez ranked 13th.
Ajagba has been joined in his training camp by the Gypsy King himself, as Tyson Fury has been pictured sparring with the talented Nigerian boxer as both men prepare for their big fights.
