Nigerian players in Europe: Iheanacho, Oyekaru, Emenike on song as Onazi, Awoniyi crash with their clubs

Iheanacho, Iwobi, Success, Oyekaru, Emenike and Omeruo starred as their teams won the league matches while the likes of Ndidi, Awoniyi, Oboabona and Onazi could save their clubs from suffering defeats.

Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive run of form as he scored and assisted a goal while his club destroyed Bournemouth 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Kelechi has scored three goals and assisted 2 goals in his last 3 games for the Citizens.

Alex Iwobi put up a man of the match performance as Arsenal beat Hull City 4-1 away from home. The 20-year-old assisted his club’s first 2 goals and was involved in everything positive his club did on the night.

Odion Ighalo and Isaac Success helped Watford beat Manchester United 3-1 to inflict third consecutive defeat on Mourinho’s tutored side. Isaac Success who came in for his compatriot Ighalo, was involved in the build up to the penalty earned by the Hornets in injury time for their third goal.

Ahmed Musa was an unused sub as Leceister City beat Burnley 3-0.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Carl Ikeme was in action for the entire match as his Wolverhampton side beat Newcastle United at St. James Park.

Henry Oyekaru scored his third league goal as his side lost 3-2 to Club Brugge. The 19-year-old opened the scoring for his club but Brugge fought back to win the game. Anthony Bassey came in the 2nd half but couldn’t change the outcome of the game. Odeni Igor George Jamabo was an unused sub.

Anderson Esiti came in the second for Schoofs but his impact couldn’t change the outcome of the match as his side lost 1-0 to KV Oostende. Ibrahim Rabiu was an unused sub while Simon Moses didn’t feature in the game as he is nursing a hamstring injury.
