Nigerian Players In the UCL: Alhassan Yusuf Scores, Ejuke In Action for Antwerp, Chukwueze misses Milan loss

Nigerian players, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke were in action as Royal Antwerp in the UEFA Champions League while Samuel Chukwueze missed AC Milan’s 3-0 loss at PSG with Injury.

On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Alhassan Yusuf scored as Royal Antwerp suffered a 1-4 home defeat to Porto in Group H of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League.

Yusuf played for 90 minutes while former CSKA Moscow winger, Chidera Ejuke was subbed on in the 77th minute.

Antwerp broke the deadlock thanks to Yusuf, who scored in the 37th minute.

That was his first ever UEFA Champions League goal, and his first goal in all competitions for the Belgian club this season.

Visiting FC Porto did come from behind to take all three points thanks to a hat-trick from Evanilson and a solitary strike from Stephen Eustaquio.

With the result, Antwerp are bottom of the group with no point after three matchday’s while Porto occupy second spot on six points.

In Group F AC Milan, without the injured Samuel Chukwueze lost 3-0 away to Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc Des Prince.

Kyllian Mbappe, Kolo Muani and Lee Yong scored the goals to hand Luiz Enrique’s men a well deserved win over struggling, AC Milan.

Chukwueze’s Italian club are yet to a win in the UEFA Champions League this season after three games and are bottom in the group with just two points.

PSG go to top in the group on six points from three games played after Newcastle United FC suffered a 0-1 home loss to Borussia Dortmund.

In the other UEFA Champions League results for Wednesday, October 25, Manchester City beat Young Boys 1-3 away, Barcelona edged Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1.

In Germany, Red Star Belgrade lost 3-1 to Liepzig, Scottish giants, Celtic and Atletico Madrid played a 2-2 draw while Feyenoord defeated Lazio 3-1.
