Nigerian star Davido stars on official 2022 World Cup song
Despite Nigeria’s Super Eagles failing to make the cut for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been included in the official World Cup song.
The official soundtrack for the Mundial is usually a big deal, with artistes like Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, R-Kelly and a host of other A-list musicians having been featured on previous editions.
Davido is the first Nigerian artiste to feature in the official World Cup song. He sang Hayya Hayya (Better Together), the first released song from the 2022 FIFA World Cup album, alongside Trinidad Cardona and Aisha. He will perform the song at the FIFA World Cup Group Stage Draw later today.
Davido has also become the first Afrobeats artiste to feature on any official World Cup soundtrack or album for the FIFA World Cup. His inclusion in the track adds another achievement to his impressive list of achievements at a time when the music industry is the only thing really functioning in the country.
