Nigerian youngster Orji Egwu completes move to Swedish club from Nordic Academy

Nigerian youngster Orji Egwu has completed a move to Swedish club FC Stockholm from Nordic Football Academy, Nigeria.

Akwa Ibom State based Nordic Football Academy, Nigeria confirmed this transfer via a statement on its official social media handle on Tuesday September 12, 2023.

Nordic Academy said ” We are thrilled to announce that our dynamic defender, Orji Egwu, has successfully sealed his transfer from the Nordic Football Academy Nigeria to FC Stockholm in Sweden.

Orji Egwu has undeniably been a standout player within the ranks of the Nordic Football Academy Nigeria. His unwavering commitment, exceptional talent, and unwavering professionalism have earned him this well-deserved opportunity with FC Stockholm. Notably, Orji delivered exceptional performances for Nordic during the Nationwide League One earlier this year.

Currently, Orji has already settled in Stockholm and has joined up with his new teammates at FC Stockholm.

This marks the second transfer between Nordic Academy and FC Stockholm in their ongoing collaboration this season, with more young footballers expected to make their way to Sweden in the coming months and years.

Orji Egwu now reunites with his former teammate, Osita Amadi, who has already found his footing in Sweden. Together, they embark on an exciting journey with FC Stockholm. ”  

This brings to two, the number of Nordic Football Academy Nigeria products that have moved to FC Stockholm of Sweden in 2023.

In May, former skipper Osita Amadi completed a move to Stockholm and is now joined by Orji Egwu. Both players were part of the Academy’s squad for the 2022/2023 Nationwide League season.
