Nigerians Abroad: Nwakaeme on target, Awoniyi suffers concussion, Moses crashes out
Anthony Nwakaeme, Samuel Chukwueze, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awoziem, Victor Moses, Taiwo Awoniyi and Oghenekaro Etebo were all in action for their various clubs as football resumes across Europe.
While Anthony Nwakaeme and Samuel Chukwueze were on the winning sides, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awoziem and Victor Moses were on the losing teams.
Here is how they all fared over the weekend:
Anthony Nwakaeme (Trabzonspor)
Super Eagles striker Nwakaeme was on target for Trabzonspor in their 3-1 win at Goztepe.
The former Hapoel Tel Aviv striker scored his sides first of the night to increase his season tally to 11 goals in 25 games.
Trabzonspor are joint top with 56 points in the Turkish Super Lig.
Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal)
Samuel Chukwueze was introduced for the Yellow Submarines in the second half and he wrecked havoc within 30 minutes of play.
Samu was the brain behind his sides only goal at Celta Vigo on Saturday in their La Liga clash.
Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awoziem (CD Leganés)
Super Eagles were paired in the back three for CD Leganés as they fell 2-1 Real Valladolid in a La Liga game on Saturday.
Both players gave a good account of themselves on the day but a mistake involving Chidozie Awoziem gifted the visitors their first goal. The defeat put Leganes in the 19th position as they continue to fight for survival.
Victor Moses (Inter Milan)
Victor Moses played the last 30 minutes as Inter Milan got knocked out in the Coppa Italia semifinal after playing a 1-1 draw at the Sao Paolo Stadium on Saturday.
Napoli who won 1-0 at San Siro secured their place in the final after a 2-1 aggregate win.
Taiwo Awoniyi (FSV Mainz)
Liverpool striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was rushed to the hospital after he suffered concussion in a Bundesliga match between FSV Mainz and Augsburg.
”The club via a tweet confirmed it was concussion:“Our striker Taiwo #Awoniyi suffered a concussion in his collision with @FCA_World’s Felix #Uduokhai and is spending the night in hospital as a precautionary measure.

Oghekaro Etebo (Getafe)
Etebo was unable to save Champions League hopeful Getafe from defeat against Granada in a La Liga game on Saturday.
The Nigerian on loan from Stoke City was given a caution in the match as 5th placed Getafe lost 2-1 to Granada.
