Nigerians Abroad: Onuachu, Osimhen on target; Iwobi, Onyekuru, Omeruo star; Kalu, Simon, Abdullahi lose

Nigerian players plying their trades abroad continued to make their marks in European top flight leagues.

Paul Onuachu, Victor Osimhen were on target; Alex Iwobi, Henry Onyekuru, Kenneth Omeruo played key roles; while Simon Kalu, Simon Moses, and Shuhu Abdullahi were on the losing sides.

Victor Osimhen  (Sporting Charleroi)

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen returned to goalscoring form, however, in Sporting Charleroi 3-1 away loss to St.Truiden in a Belgian top flight game on Sunday.

Victor Osimhen who ended his three games without a goal scored his 10th goal of the season in 20 league games for Sporting Charleroi.

Paul Onuachu  (Midtjylland)

Paul Onuachu became the hero and was almost the villian in Midtjylland 2-1 away win against Aarhus GF at Ceres Park on Sunday.

Paul Onuachu singlehandedly equalized and scored the winning goal for Midtylland but unfortunately got his marching orders in the 67th minute.

Alex Iwobi  (Arsenal)

Super Eagles attacker continued his impressive run of form for Arsenal as he played a big role in Arsenal 2-0 home win against Southampton at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Alex Iwobi showed why he his vital for Unai Emery with another solid display. He was subbed off for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 75th minute of the game.

Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux)

Samuel Kalu was on for 72nd minute as Bordeaux suffered a 1-0 away loss to Nantes at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday.

Samuel Kalu was subbed off for Yann Karamoh who also couldn’t help change the 51st minute header from Nicolas Pallois.

Simon Moses (Levante)

If not for VAR and penalties, Simon Moses Levanted would have recorded another win against Real Madrid.

Simon Moses was on the pitch at the Ciutat de Valencia through out the match as Levante suffered a 2-1 home loss to Real Madrid.

Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes)

Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo will be proud to have held his own against strong Valencia attack at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Sunday.

Omeruo played all through 90 minutes as Leganes played out a 1-1 draw.

Henry Onyekuru (Galatasaray)

Henry Onyekuru and Galatasaray put the disappointment of their Europa League elimination behind with a narrow 1-0 win against Akhisar Belediyespor in a Turkish top-flight game played at Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi Turk Telekom Stadium on Sunday.

Henry Onyekuru was subbed off for Yunus Akgun in the 84th minute of the intense battle.

Shehu Abdullahi (Bursaspor)

Super Eagles versatile player, played in the midfield as Bursaspor suffered a 3-0 away loss to table-toppers Istanbul Basaksehir at the Fatih Terim Stadium on Sunday.

He was on for 80 minutes before he was subbed off for Umut Nayir,  before his withdrawal Bursaspor were just two goals down.
