Nigerians Abroad: Uche Idah fires blank, Azeez on point in defeat, Awoziem & Omeruo on the brink

Adam Uche Idah, Ramon Azeez, Odion Ighalo, Samuel Chukwueze, Micahel Obafemi, Chidozie Awoziem, and Kenneth Omeruo were all involved for their clubs on Friday.

They were involved for their clubs in England, and Spain. While some are fighting for continental football others are fighting to avoid the drop.

England

Adam Uche Idah (Norwich City)

Adam Uche Idah was unable to save Norwich City from their 3-0 loss to a rejuvenated Southampton at the Carrow Road on Friday.

The Irish born striker of Nigerian descent came on for The Caneries in the second half with just 10 minutes to go but his effort was not good enough.

Michael Obafemi (Southampton)

Irish national of Nigerian descent, Michael Obafemi cont9from where he left off before the pandemic.

The former Arsenal, Chelsea academy player was actively involved as Southampton further condemned Norwich to the bottom of the Premier League table with am easy 3-0 win.

Michael Obafemi was one of the four Nigerian born players included in the 100-player list for the 2020 Golden Boy award.

Odion Ighalo (Manchester United)

Odion Ighalo was involved as his side secured a 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Friday.

Ighalo’s Manchester United earned a valuable point that could be useful in their race for a top four finish.

Spain

Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awoziem (Leganes)

Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awoziem started the match as Leganes battle fellow relegation strugglers, Mallorca Visit Mallorca Estadi on Friday.

The game ended 1-1 as Leganes who currently bottom of the log continue to fight for safety.

Kenneth Omeruo was on the pitch the entire duration of the game while Chidozie Awoziem was subbed off in the second half.

Ramon Azeez (Granada)

Ramon Azeez was the star player for for Granda in their 1-0 home home defeat to Villarreal.

Had a shot on target and was one of his club’s star players depite playing for 30 minutes.

Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal)

Samuel Chukwueze had a dull evening but his side won the match. He received a card for foul on Ramon Azeez.

Although, Villarreal secured their third 1-0 win since football returns, it was the best day at the office for Samu.
