Nikola Jokić Erupts for Season-High 55 Points as Nuggets Cruise Past Clippers
Nikola Jokić delivered a stunning performance on Wednesday night, powering the Denver Nuggets to a 130-116 win over the LA Clippers — their sixth straight victory of the season.
The Serbian superstar was unstoppable, recording a season-high 55 points on an incredible 18-of-23 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range and 14-of-16 from the free-throw line. It marked the third-highest scoring game of his career and a reminder of why he remains one of the most dominant players in the NBA.
Jokić’s offensive brilliance led Denver to a decisive road win just 24 hours after defeating the Sacramento Kings. The Nuggets have now swept both of their back-to-back games this season and continue to impress with eight of their nine victories coming by double digits.
A blistering 43-point third quarter turned the tide for Denver, who outpaced the Clippers with precision shooting and smart ball movement. Four of the Nuggets’ five highest-scoring quarters this season have come in the third, underlining their strength after halftime.
With a 9-2 record and the second-best net rating in the league, the defending champions are off to a dominant start — and with Jokić in this kind of form, the Nuggets look every bit like title favourites once again.
