NLO : Sir Monty Fc Wins Protest Over J Atete Jnr For Fielding Unregistered Players.

- NLO Board Awards 3 Points And 3 Goals To Sir Monty Fc.

The Nigerian Nationwide League board has awarded 3 points and 3 goals to Sir Monty Fc following their protest over the illegal fielding of six unregistered players by J Atete Fc Jnr’s in their Week two encounter .

In a letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the league Mr Ogunshola Ogunnowo addressed to the Secretary of the Delta state football Association and copied to all Nigerian Nationwide League One Clubs , the board invoked Article 3.01(7) of the rules after finding J Atete Jnr’s guilty of Fielding Unregistered Players for the March 23rd 2022 clash Vs Sir Monty Fc .

With today’s Judgement, the result of the match which had earlier ended 2-0 in favour of J Atete Jnr’s at the Ughelli Township stadium in Delta state will now read and apply as J Atete Jnr 0-3 Sir Monty Fc .

The result takes Sir Monty Fc to the top of the standings in Group D1. The Akwa Ibom state based side have thus amassed 7 points from three matches ( 2 away 1 home ).

In an exclusive chat with Sportsration after the decision of the NLO Board, Prince Ukeme Ukpong Chairman Of Sir Monty Football Club applauded the league board for their prompt and just decision of the Protest.

” I must commend the NLO Board for a prompt and Just decision to our protest over J Atete Jnr fielding Unregistered Players for our Matchday two encounter in Ughelli .

” This decision adds to the Joy of victory in our first ever home match yesterday and takes us to the top of the standings. For a young club like ours , it’s a special feeling knowing we have gone without defeat in our first three games. ” Prince Ukeme Ukpong concluded.

Aside the decision to award the points to Sir Monty Fc, the NLO Board has also issued a stern warning to J Atete Fc to desist from all acts which may bring the league to disrepute.
