MATCH REPORT

The Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri was venue for the Nigerian National league Matchday six encounter between Campos Fc and Ibom Youths Fc.

In the 16th minute, Midfielder Ndifreke John delivered a superb through ball to send Nsikak Moses through on goal. The forward lobbed the ball over the Campos Fc goalie to stun the home team and give Ibom Youths Fc the lead.

The lead lasted for just 2 minutes as Campos Fc were awarded a goal by the assistant referee who adjudged Idrissa’s header had crossed the goalline before a clearance by Ibom Youths Fc defender Wisdom Ndon.

Both sides headed into the changing room on level terms with the scoreboard reading 1-1.

On resumption for the second half, both sides sized each other in cracking midfield battles. Midfielder Ndifreke John caused so much problem for the opposition with his dribbles and was at the receiving end of several careless tackles by the Campos Fc players one of them resulted in a free Kick in the 63rd Minute.

Victor Ifiok’s powerful shot from the resultant free kick was spilled out for a corner kick. Defender Franklin Chinedu scored from Joe Bassey’s corner kick to hand Ibom Youths Fc a 1-2 lead in the 64th minute.

The goal sparked a spell of sustained pressure by the homers. Their efforts paid off in the 77th minute when Oguehi Nzugbechi Smashed a left footed shot past Ibom Youths Fc Goalkeeper Victor Obiowo to level scores at 2-2.

Ibom Youths Fc came close to taking all three points in the 89th minute after Midfielder Ndifreke John had dribbled past a host of markers to set up Chibuzor Princewill whose effort unfortunately went over the Crossbar.

It finished Campos Fc 2-2 Ibom Youths Fc. A third away draw of the season for Ibom Youths Fc who have lost just one of its opening six matches in the league this season. Campos Fc will be hurting over two dropped points at home with the club languishing at the negative end of the table.
