NNL: Remo Stars Gets Another Win On The Road At Stationery Stores

Remo Stars FC (RSFC) maintained 100 percent record away from home in Group B2 of the Nigeria National League (NNL) with an impressive 2-0 win at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The kickoff between the flaming flamingoes and the Sky Blue Stars was delayed for thirty (30) minutes due to heavy downpour in Lagos.

The Sky Blue Stars took the lead in the 65th minute after Nokeeb Olaniyonu set up Sunday Williams and his low strike was spilled in by  flaming flamingoes goalkeeper, Kelvin Mark.

Stationery Stores threatened the visitor’s defence line in the early minutes of the game after Ifeanyi Nwala’s long range shot couldn’t get pass well-drilled goalkeeper, James Faith.

Sunday Williams tried putting the Sky Blue Stars ahead after combining brilliantly with Mathias Ogweche but he couldn’t go pass his marker to convert for the visitors.

The second 45 minutes started on a brighter note for the Sky Blue Stars with well coordinated passes amongst themselves before Dauda Shefiu tried his luck but his attempt went wide.

Abdullahi Ibrahim, however, beat Kelvin Mark to extend the lead for the visitors after receiving a low cross from teammate, Solomon John who fought his way inside the opponent’s box.

Its the second win on the road for Remo Stars in the second tier league after defeating the Omoluabi Giants in the first game of the season.

Next for the Sky Blue Stars is the first home game against Delta Force FC at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu next weekend in Match Day three (3) of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
