NNL Review: Remo Stars Aim For 3rd Consecutive Win In First Home Game

Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) host Delta Force Football Club at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu in one of Match Day 3 fixtures in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

This fixture signifies the first home match for the Sky Blue Stars who have amass six (6) points in the first two away games played in the second tier league of Nigeria Football.

The Sky Blue Stars shocked the flaming flamingoes 2-0 in Match Day 2 of the NNL in the front of their fans played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

An own goal from Kelvin Mark and a beautiful finish from Abdullahi Ibrahim ensured maximum points for Fatai Osho’s men to seal six (6) points away from home in their first two games in the league.

The Sky Blue Stars also defeated Lion Heart 6-3 on Wednesday in Ijebu Ode to qualify for the quarter finals of the 2018 Ogun State FA Cup currently going on.

Meanwhile, Delta Ambassadors played out a goalless draw at home against Osun United last weekend after been previously bashed 4-2 by Unicem Rovers away from home in the first game of Nigeria’s most important league, NNL.

The management of Delta Force FC through a presser then indicated they have parted ways with former Super Eagles striker, Victor Okechukwu Agali after just two (2) matches in charge of the team.

Signs of hope beamed forth for the Delta Ambassadors after former assistant to Victor Agali, now head coach, Wahab Haruna brought smiles to the faces of their fans by defeating Excellent Academy 3-1 in the Delta Federation (FA) Cup and hope to transmit that form to his first game in charge in the NNL.

Both sides (Remo Stars and Delta Force) have met twice and it was in the 2015/16 season in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the Sky Blue Stars came out victorious over two (2) legs. Remo Stars defeated the Delta Ambassadors 1-0 at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium and played out a 0-0 draw at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium in Ogwashi-Uku.

Defenders, Awoyemi Abiodun and Abiodun Afolabi are the only players unavailable for this encounter due to illness and injury respectively.

A win for Remo Stars FC in this encounter will help maintain their hundred (100%) percent record this season in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
