NNL Super 8: Judgement day for Kano Pillars, Katsina United, EFCC, Heartland FC and Abeokuta Stormers
Judgement will be delivered on the promotion ambition of Kano Pillars, Katsina United, EFCC, Heartland and Abeokuta Stormers as the final round of NNL Super 8 matches hold today Wednesday July 5.
As it stands, only Sporting Lagos FC have confirmed their promoted to the Nigeria Premier League.
The three remaining slots are up for grabs with two in the Northern conference to be taken by either Kano Pillars FC who sit top of the standings with six points, Katsina United FC in second place with 3 points same as EFCC FC while Heartland FC and Stormers SC of Abeokuta eye the one slot available In the Southern conference.
According to the Nigeria National League board, all four NNL Super 8 matchday three matches will be played simultaneously in Delta State.
NNL DECISION AHEAD OF SUPER 8 JUDGEMENT DAY
In a bid to ensure fair play and to give all teams equal chance and avoiding any dishonesty in the last set of matches ,the Nigeria National League has ruled that the last set of matches in both conferences will be played same time and in different venues.
In a special meeting with representative of the eight clubs in Asaba at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, the venues were democratically picked in a ballot format.
Head of Operations,Nigeria National League,Emmanuel Adesanya said the decision became imperative to really encourage equal opportunities to the clubs.
According to him ,it is only a game and games are pointless unless played fairly.
THE MATCHES, TIME AND VENUES
In the Northern Conference, Katsina vs Kano Pillars will be played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium by 1pm same time DMD and EFCC will hold at the Jay-Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogashi-Uku.
For the Southern Conference, Heartland FC of Owerri versus Sporting Lagos is scheduled for the Stephen International Stadium Asaba, by 3pm, with Stormers SC of Abeokuta and FC ONE Rocket will locking horns at Ogwashi-Uku, at the same time.
PERMUTATIONS
Northern Conference: Kano Pillars FC lead the standings here with six points. They play Katsina United FC who have 3-points. A draw will confirm Kano Pillars FC promotion to the Nigeria Premier League.
Katsina United FC need a win or any result better than what EFCC FC will get Vs already eliminated DMD FC.
Southern Conference: Top of the table , Sporting Lagos FC are already sure of their place in the Nigeria Premier League ahead of their clash vs Heartland FC.
Heartland FC need just a point in this match to be promoted to the Premier League.
Stormers Sports Club on their part must win vs eliminated FC ONE Rocket to stand any chance Incase Heartland lose to Sporting Lagos FC.
