Novak Djokovic on Turin: “I’ll Decide After Athens”

Novak Djokovic has kept the tennis world guessing about whether he will play in the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. After defeating Alejandro Tabilo in his opening match at the Hellenic Championship in Athens, the Serbian superstar clarified that he has not yet made a decision about participating in Turin.

Speaking to reporters on November 5, 2025, during his post-match press conference in Athens, Djokovic addressed a recent claim by Italian Tennis Federation president Angelo Binaghi, who had publicly said the world No. 1 was confirmed for Turin. Djokovic quickly dismissed that notion, saying:

“I don’t know where he got that information from. Definitely not from me or my team. I will decide at the end of this tournament.”

His decision to postpone confirmation has added suspense to the race for the year-ending ATP Finals, where the top eight players in the world compete.

Djokovic’s participation is imprtant for both fans and organizers. The Turin event thrives on star power, and his absence would open the door for another player to claim a spot. For now, the tennis world will have to wait until the Athens tournament concludes to find out if Djokovic will go to Italy.
