NPFL: Akwa United spank Nassarawa United 0-3 to continue revival after opening day setback

Akwa United FC on Sunday afternoon spanked Nassarawa United 0-3 in Jos to continue their revival following a dissapointing opening game of the season.

The Promise Keepers fell 0-2 to Bendel Insurance FC in the opening game of the 2022/2023 season but have produced exceptional performances in the last two games.

In midweek, Akwa United FC held Enyimba International FC to a goalless draw in Aba before the trip to Jos, Nassarawa United’s adopted home ground.

Boosted with the addition of enterprising midfielder Cyril Olisema to the matchday squad for the week three clash, Akwa United FC were near perfect as they ran over struggling Nassarawa United FC.

First, Akwa United FC left-back James Ajako produced a sublime volley to put the Promise Keepers In front just before the half-time break.

That lead will be extended in the 47th minute by Ndifreke Effiong, his first since returning to the club.

Cyril Olisema delivered a beautiful cross which was expertly headed home by Ndifreke Effiong for 0-2 at the New Jos Stadium.

To add gloss to the result, Ndifreke Effiong will race free before finishing past Goalkepeer Ameh for his brace .

At the end of regulation time, it finished Nassarawa United 0-3 Akwa United FC.
