NPFL: Delta Force Hands El-Kanemi Warriors’ First Home Defeat In 3 Years
NPFL’s newbie, Delta Force inflicted the first home league defeat on El-Kanemi Warriors for the first time in three years.
The result brought to an end El-Kanemi Warriors’ 1,139 days invisibility at home to an end as they slipped to third in the process on the NPFL Group B log.
Going into the game as underdogs due to El-Kanemi Warriors impressive home records over the years, Delta force defied the odds to grab all maximum three points.
El Kanemi’s defence were breached as Ufuoma Ajamikoko opened the scoring two minutes after the half hour mark with Delta Force going into the break the better of the two sides.
Delta Force withheld all of El-Kanemi’s pressure in the second half and eventually break on the counter when Egbo Otukhe scored a 99th minute winner to silence the crowd at the Maiduguri Sports Complex.
