NPFL: Kano Pillars 8 games unbeaten run over in Damaturu

Yobe Desert Stars Football Club on Sunday at the August 27 Stadium in Damaturu ended Kano  Pillars football club  eight matches unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory in the Match Day 12 of the on going 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Babatunde Solomon and Abdul Malik Muhammad goals in the 23rd and 70th minutes of the game, made the difference for the host.

Speaking after the  match, Kano Pillars football club Technical Adviser Ibrahim A. Musa said the match has been won and lost while his target is how to recoup the lost points in subsequent matches.
Pillars will  host Niger Tornadoes football club next Sunday in kano.
“We did not  expect the result like this but that is how it turned out but we are not deterred in our quest to excel this season,”  Ibrahim said.

He commended the match officials  particularly the centre Referee Ihonye  E.  from Benue state.

Coach Ibrahim said if other referees would emulate him, the league will advance higher.

He expressed appreciation for the sportsmanship attitudes shown by the fans during and after the match which he described as commendable.

He  advised the  Yobe State Football Association and the  management of Yobe Desert  Stars football club to do extra work to improve the condition of their stadium because he said the situation of the pitch affected his players performance.

Sai masu Gida missed the services of the league leading  goal scorer Junior Lokosa in the match because of stomach upset  and the defence Marshal of the team Emmanuel Anyanwu who was ruled out due to muscle tear he got in their Match Day 11 game with Go Round FC in kano.
