NPFL: Katsina United go past Go-Round FC

Katsina United recorded an emphatic 3 – 0 win over NPFL new comers Go-Round FC in one of the matchday 5 fixtures decided at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina today.

‘The Chanji Boys’ swamped on the visitors from the blast of the first whistle as they mounted pressure and were rewarded with an early goal

Eric Dufegha, who was given his first start of the season by coach Abdullahi Biffo, got the first goal of the game with arguably his first touch on the ball after he raced towards a dangerous cross into the box by Lukman Muhammed, which the goalkeeper could not handle and fired home with a flying header.

Go-Round fought back and dominated possession as they build from the back.

They almost got the equaliser on 25th minutes when Adelani’s long-range strike went inches away from the crossbar.

Katsina United will then get their second goal on 30th minutes, when Joshua Agboola wasted no time to convert a clever square pass into the box by Tasiu Lawal to send the home fans into wild jubilation.

Go-Round came strongly in the second half and could have pulled one back on 63th minutes, when Adelani’s strike forced Yinka David to make a world-class save.

Ukwu’s long range drive hit the upright just three minutes after that sumptuous save by Yinka David.

Coach Biffo threw more attackers into the fray as Martins Usule and Musa Suleman came on for Eric Dufegha and Joshua Agboola, respectively.

The substitutes would then pay off on 90th minutes, when Martins Usule tapped home a clever pass from Destiny Ashadi into the box that beat the goalkeeper and secured an emphatic victory and maximum three points for Katsina United.
