NPFL Matchday 5 Preview

Matchday 5 of the NPFL is scheduled to kick off on Sunday January 17th.

Table-topping Rivers United would look to get back to winning ways when they host the Naze Millionaires, Heartland FC of Owerri at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Plateau United host Adamawa United in Jos after their defeat at the hands of Kano Pillars last time out.

Nasarawa United will look to continue their unbeaten start when they lock horns with Katsina United at the Lafia Township Stadium.

In the week’s clash of the titans, heavyweights Enyimba and Kano Pillars collide in Aba. Enyimba will be looking to take all three points, having lost their last game. Pillars are yet to suffer a defeat this season.

Jigawa Golden Stars will look to build on their away win from last week when they take on Kwara United at their adopted home in Kaduna.

Abia Warriors begin their three game ultimatum away to FC Ifeanyi Ubah in what is an Oriental derby. Both teams lost their previous week’s fixtures and will be looking to atone for the defeats.

MFM FC host Rangers International at the Soccer Temple in Agege. MFM only picked up a point from their last game while Rangers picked up all three in theirs.

Makurdi-based Lobi Stars play host to Dakkada FC at the Aper Aku Stadium. Both sides have started the season very positively and will be looking to build on the good starts.

Sunshine Stars host Warri Wolves. The Akure Gunners have had a stop-start campaign so far, and would be looking for an improved performance.

On Monday, Akwa United entertain Wikki Tourist FC at the Nest of Champions in Uyo. The game will be televised live on NTA and the NPFL.tv app.
