Nasarawa United reclaimed top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday after an emphatic 3-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors at the Lafia City Stadium.

The Solid Miners, who had failed to win any of their previous four league games, bounced back in style. Last season’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, rediscovered his scoring touch with a brilliant brace, while Garba Mohammed added a third to seal a dominant performance for the home side.

In Abeokuta, defending champions Remo Stars continued their strong start to the season with a 2-0 win over Barau FC at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena. Goals from Ahmed Akinyele and Victor Mbaoma ensured the Sky Blue Stars maintained pressure at the top end of the table.

Former champions Rangers International also returned to winning ways after edging Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in Enugu. Kenechukwu Agu struck the decisive goal 20 minutes from time to hand the Flying Antelopes a much-needed boost.

Elsewhere, Kwara United and Shooting Stars played out a goalless draw in Ilorin, while Abia Warriors and Bendel Insurance also settled for a 0-0 stalemate in Umuahia.

Wikki Tourists were held 1-1 by Bayelsa United, and Wolves also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Kun Khalifat.
