NPFL: Plateau United Terminates Contract Of 17 Players
2017 NPFL Champions, Plateau United of Jos has released seventeen players from their team.
In a statement signed by the Media Officer of the Club, Albert Dakup, the decision was taken at the end of a meeting between management and the technical crew shortly before the team embarked on recess.
Dakup explained that most of the seventeen players were deemed surplus to requirement due to undiscipline and decline in productivity.
According to Dakup, all the seventeen players have been communicated and told to surrender club properties in their possession as all their entitlements have been paid to them.
The club has already entered into negotiations with some fresh legs who have been penciled down to replace the departing players.
Among the seventeen players who were released are those who joined the team on loan last season and their performance fell beyond the club expectations.
Plateau United who embarked on a recess last month will resume preparations for the incoming season on the 29th of July, 2019.
