NPFL Rescheduled Game: Plataeu Utd Halt Kwara Utd Run

A goal in each half from Tosin Omoyele and Raphael Ayagwa were all Plateau United required to run out 2-0 winners on Thursday and also end the five-match unbeaten run of Kwara United under new coach, Abubakar Bala.

Omoyele gave the home team the lead in the 20th minute as he sprung the offside line to beat Kwara United defence before slotting in a low drive beyond goalkeeper Jonah Usman for the opener.

The former Osun United man had a say in the second goal as he was fouled in the box by Saidu Idris after the striker had dribbled his way into the vital area before he was fouled. Ayagwa stepped up and expertly converted the penalty with less than ten minutes remaining in the game.

Ayagwa expressed confidence that Plateau United will return to the continent following their exit in CAF’s two club competitions – the Champions League and later in the Confederation Cup playoff.
