The Jos-based team broke the deadlock in the 17th minute of the encounter through Charles Okafor’s header courtesy Bala’s corner kick. In the 60th minute, Niger Tornadoes failed to convert a glorious chance as Kunle Issa blasted the ball wide. Four minutes later, Issa made amends when he blasted the ball past the Plateau United goalkeeper, Innocent Ndem, to make it 1-1.

Plateau United finally restored their one-goal lead when Bala’s corner kick was tapped in by Ibeh Johnson after a goalmouth scramble.

Johnson’s goal just three minutes before full time was enough for Plateau United to take the three points.
