NPFL Sanctions Nasarawa United Over Security Breach and Fan Misconduct

Nasarawa United have been punished by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after serious breaches during their home match against Kun Khalifat FC on April 5 at the Lafia City Stadium.

The league found the club guilty of failing to provide proper security at the venue. This lapse allowed unauthorised persons to gain access to restricted areas during the match.

Supporters were also reported to have thrown dangerous objects at match officials, putting their safety at risk.

In addition, club officials were charged with unsporting conduct, while Nasarawa United were held responsible for failing to control their fans. The situation escalated after the match, as officials were harassed and detained.

Following these incidents, the NPFL handed multiple fines of ₦1 million to the club.

The league also ordered Nasarawa United to play their final two home matches of the season behind closed doors.

The club has been given 48 hours to appeal the decision.
