NPFL Top Scorer: Obioma to receive 3.2 million naira from Eunisell
As reward for scoring 16-goals to finish as NPFL top scorer, Chukwuemeka Obioma will receive 3.2 million naira from Eunisell Limited.
Eunisell is the official sponsor of the top scorer award in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and will be handing out the prize for the eight season.
Obioma scored 16 goals to emerge as highest goal scorer in the just concluded 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier League season and so will receive N3.2million as well as the Eunisell Boot.
Eunisell is West Africa’s largest independent chemical as well as oil and gas engineering solutions company, and has in the last eight years sponsored this award to encourage competition for the Nigeria Premier League top-scorer award.
To get the summed amount, Obioma’s 16-goals is multiplied by the premium value of N200,000 placed by Eunisell for each goal scored by the top scorer.
His goals were instrumental to Enyimba International FC winning a record extending 9th league title at the end of the NPFL Super Six playoffs in Lagos State few weeks ago.
Group Managing Director of Eunisell, Chika Ikenga, applauded Obioma for his form during the season.
Chika said “Our passion for Nigerian football and players’ advancement is evident with our sponsorship of the Eunisell Boot. We are excited that players look forward to winning this award.
“Obioma’s story is worthy of celebration as he has made goal scoring look like an easy task with two or more goals in a game.
“Two years ago (2021), he was unable to win the award despite scoring double digits. It is no surprise that his goals also contributed to the success of Enyimba”, the Eunisell representative commented.
As it is customary, a ceremony will be organized for Emeka Obioma to be decorated with his NPFL top scorer award, at a date and venue to be announced by Eunisell Limited.
Obioma will succeed Chijioke Akuneto who won the NPFL top scorer prize for the 2021/2022 season and received 3.8 million naira after scoring 18-goals for Rivers United FC.
