NPFL Week 15 Round Up: All hail Sunshine Stars’ Olorunleke as Plateau United return to the top

Ojo Olorunleke penalty saves and Plateau United returning to the top of the log, top the matches played in the week 15 of the Nigeria Professional Football League last weekend.

In Lokoja, at the Confluence Stadium, Ojo Olorunleke saved two penalties either half but it was not enough to save Sunshine Stars from going down 2-1.

Lukas Yahaya assisted Gabriel Jeremiah’s opener before scoring the last minute goal for the Ikon Allah, Adedipe Kehinde scored the only goal for Sunshine and it was a beautiful solo effort.

Okoye and Sadiq Suleiman had their penalties saved by Ojo Olorunleke.

In Jos, at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Reuben Bala’s first professional hat trick gave Plateau United a comfortable 4-1 victory over ABS at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos and took Kennedy Boboye’s men back to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

Reuben Bala scored a penalty either half and a header to complete his first ever professional hat-trick. ABS coach Henry Makinwa was given his marching orders in the game.

In Katsina at the Katsina Township Stadium, Timothy Danladi 7th minute strike from the spot kick ensured the home team secured the maximum points and condemned the 2015-16 champions to the bottom of the log after another below-par display.

In Abia at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Abia Warriors trashed Kano Pillars 3-0 to record their first ever victory against Pillars after 6 attempts.

Shrif Bashir, Sunday Adetunji and an own goal from Joel Djondang completed the rout for Abia Warriors.

In Calaber at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Ufom Udoh’s penalty was enough to earn Enyimba a 1-0 victory over Rivers United and moved Gbenga Ogunbote’s side into the 7th position on the log.

In Gombe at the Pantami Stadium, Sadiq Shuaibu’s goal denied Fidelis Ilechukwu and his boys another valuable away point as MFM suffered a 1-0 defeat.

There were victories for Nasarawa United, Remo Stars, El Kanemi Warriors, and the game between Akwa United and FC IfeanyiUbah ended in a 1-1 draw.
