#NPFL22 Matchday 3 review: Pillars winless, Remo end 2021 atop

Kano Pillars are stilling looking for their first win of the campaign after suffering a 1-0 loss to Katsina United on matchday three.

They lost 3-0 on matchday 1 and played a goalless draw with Lobi Stars on matchday 2.

Newcomers Remo United were denied a win on matchday three as they were forced to a 0-0 draw by Nasarawa United but the point was enough to secure top spot for them.

Here is the recap of all that happened on matchday three

1. Akwa United 1-0 Gombe United
Ubong Friday’s strike from the spot kick handed The Promise Keepers a 1-0 win against Gombe United at the Goodswill Akpabio Stdaium on Wednesday.

2. Lobi Stars 2-1 3SC
Lobi Stars came from a goal down to beat Shooting Stars of Ibadan in Markurdi. Akilu Mohammed 40th minutes strike handed 3SC the lead at half time.

But Lobi pulled back through Adams Olamilekan in the 61st minute and scored the winner in the 72nd minute through Ifeanyi Ogba.

3. Enyimba 0-1 Rivers United
Coach Finidi George was handed his first ever competitive defeat by Rivers United. Nigeria Professional Football league top scorer Ishaq Rafiu scored the only goal.

Ishaq Rafiu has four goals in three games.

4. Sunshine Stars 0-0 Rangers
5. Kwara United 1-0 Wikki
Ebuka Anaekwe own goal handed Kwara United the 1-0 win against Wikki Tourist in Ilorin.

6. Heartland 1-0 Dakkada
Jonas Emmanuel 69th minutes strike gave Heartland the win against Dakkada in Oweri.

7. MFM 1-0 Plateau Utd
Precious Roland 55th minutes strike handed MFM FC their first win of the campaign.

8. Remo Stars 0-0 Nasarawa United
9. Tornadoes 1-1 Abia Warriors
Martins Usule scored Tornadoes goal in the 34th minutes and Hammed Yakub drew level for the visitors in the 53rd minutes of the game.

10.Katsina Utd 1-0 Kano Pillars
Abba Umar 3rd minutes strike rendered Pillars winless in three games.
