NPFL23 Finale: Remo Stars, Sunshine Stars win big to reach Super Six

Remo Stars booked their passage into the NPFL23 Super Six with an impressive 4-0 thrashing of Kwara United in their finale at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. Andy Okpe, Seun Odunsi and a brace for Phillip Odubia scored for the Sky Blue Stars as they secured second place in Group A.

Sunshine Stars snatched the final Super Six slot in Group B with a 3-0 win over relegated Dakkada FC in Akure. The Owena Waves scored via Michael Olalusi, Nnaemeka Achi and Ekerette Udom to secure a place in the season-defining tournament.

Enyimba held Shooting Stars to a goalless draw in the season finale in Ibadan to book their place in the NPFL23 Super Six from Group A.

Akwa United picked up a 1-0 win over Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium in their NPFL23 Finale. A first-half strike from James Ajako was enough to hand the Promise Keepers maximum points in Gombe.

Bendel Insurance ended the NPFL23 regular season unbeaten after playing out a 1-1 draw against relegated Nasarawa United in Jos. The Benin Arsenal took the lead through Deputy Echeta before Chinedu Ohanachom equalised for the Solid Miners.

Wikki Tourist dropped to the NNL despite a 2-0 win over Super Six-bound Lobi Stars. Abubakar Aliyu and Abdulmumini Shehu got the goals for the Elephants in the encounter.

Champions Rivers United held Rangers to a 1-1 draw away from home in Awka. Samuel Pam gave the Flying Antelopes the lead before Super Eagles defender Ebube Duru equalised for the Pride of Rivers in the second half.

Bayelsa United beat the drop with a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa. Alex Oyowah and Stephen Wisdom scored the goals to give the Prosperity Boys a win on their NPFL23 finale.

Abia Warriors defeated Doma United 2-0 to end their season just outside the Super Six places. Emmanuel Onu and Sunday Megwo scored for the Umuahia Landlords to hand them maximum points from the encounter.

Relegated El-Kanemi Warriors held Plateau United to a 2-2 draw in their NPFL23 finale in Maiduguri. Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga opened the scoring for the Peace Boys before Emmanuel Ujah equalised for the home side. Mohamned Hussaini scored from a free-kick to put the home side ahead before the visitors salvaged a point with a goal.
