NPFL23 Matchday 14: Insurance extende unbeaten record in Ikenne, Enyimba edge Kwara United

Plateau United, Bayelsa United, Abia Warriors all win

Bendel Insurance continued to impress as they held Remo Stars to a 1-1 draw in their NPFL23 Matchday 14 clash at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. The Benin Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in the season as they are yet to face defeat in the league. Franck Kwame gave the home side the lead in the game before Divine Nwachukwu equalised for the Group A leaders to earn them a point.

Enyimba secured a vital win away from home as they defeated Kwara United 2-1 in their adopted home, the Ondo State Sports Complex. Chijioke Mbaoma gave the People’s Elephant the lead before former Enyimba forward Samad Kadiri equalised for the home side from the spot. Mbaoma scored a late winner for Enyimba to complete his brace.

Plateau United overcame Akwa United in their NPFL23 Matchday 14 meeting in Jos, with a penalty from Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga handing the Peace Boys maximum points in the game.

Bayelsa United continued their resurgence as they claimed an impressive 3-0 win over Group B leaders Lobi Stars at the Samson Siasia Stadium. Goals from Stephen Wisdom, Alex Oyowah and an Emmanuel Daniel own goal gave them maximum points from the encounter.

Rangers blew a two-goal lead at home to Niger Tornadoes, drawing 2-2 in Awka as they faced off in their NPFL23 Matchday 14 clash. Chidiebere Nwobodo and Kenneth Igboke gave the Flying Antelopes the lead before a second-half brace from Munir Idris earned the Ikon Allah Boys a draw in the game.

Doma United continued to punch above their weight with an impressive 2-0 win over Wikki Tourist at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. Two goals from Usman Musa either side of half-time earned the Savannah Tigers a vital win at home.

Relegation-threatened ElKanemi Warriors played out a goalless draw at home to Shooting Stars in Maiduguri.

Abia Warriors held on to defeat Sunshine Stars 2-1 at the Umuahia Township Stadium in their NPFL23 Matchday 14 meeting. Adejoh Ojonugwa scored a brace for the home side before the visitors pulled one back in the dying embers of the game.

Nasarawa United were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Gombe United. Usman Abbas gave the visitors the lead before Francis Ayuba rescued a point for the Solid Miners.
