NPFL23 Matchday Eight: Enyimba, Plateau United, Bendel Insurance coast to wins

Enyimba secured an impressive win at home to Shooting Stars in their NPFL23 Matchday Eight clash in Aba. The People’s Elephant claimed a 2-0 win over the Oluyole Warriors thanks to a first-half brace from red-hot Chukwuemeka Obioma, taking his tally for the season to seven goals.

Plateau United picked up the biggest win of the season so far as they walloped El-Kanemi Warriors 5-0 at the New Jos Stadium in their NPFL23 Matchday Eight clash. Sunday Anthony gave the Peace Boys the lead before Jackson Eru doubled their advantage. Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga added a third for the home side in the first half before a second half penalty from Michael Tochukwu made it four. Uche Onwuasonaya added a late fifth for the Peace Boys.

Bendel Insurance extended their unbeaten start to NPFL23 with a slim 1-0 win over Nasarawa United in Benin. The Benin Arsenal claimed all three points thanks to a second-half strike from Ebuka Akobundu.

Dakkada FC defeated Sunshine Stars in their NPFL23 Matchday Eight clash in Uyo by a 2-1 scoreline. Emmanuel Ayaosi opened the scoring for the Chosen Ones before Udom Ekerette equalised for Sunshine Stars. Karim Abdoulaye scored the winner direct from a corner-kick to give the home side maximum points from the encounter.

Wikki Tourist ended Lobi Stars’ six-game unbeaten run as they picked up a 2-1 win in their NPFL23 Matchday Eight meeting in Bauchi. Idris Guda opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Abba Umar equalised for Lobi Stars. Guda scored his second of the game to hand Wikki Tourist only their second win of the season.

Doma United picked up a narrow 1-0 win at home to Abia Warriors in their NPFL23 Matchday Eight encounter at the Pantami Stadium. Musa Usman scored the only goal to hand the Savannah Tigers all the points from the encounter.

Niger Tornadoes were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayelsa United in their NPFL23 clash. David Okoromi opened the scoring for the Ikon Allah Boys before Mizo Robert equalised for the visitors in the first half.

Remo Stars held Kwara United to a goalless draw in Kabiru Dogo’s bow as manager of the Afonja Warriors. Both sides shared the spoils from the encounter in Ibadan.
