NPFL23 Matchday Four: Enyimba return to winning ways as Akwa United win again

Enyimba cruised to a comfortable win at home to Kwara United in their NPFL23 Matchday Four clash in Aba. The People’s Elephant claimed a 3-0 win over their visitors to return to winning ways after their defeat to Plateau United last time out. Chukwuemeka Obioma opened the scoring after 11 minutes before debutant Ademola Adebambo doubled the side’s lead after 18 minutes. The home side sealed the win in the 68th minute as Obioma scored his second of the game.

Akwa United picked up their second win of the season when they defeated Plateau United 1-0 at the Eket Township Stadium. Left-back James Ajako scored for the second game running after 79 minutes to hand his side a narrow win at home and extend their unbeaten run to three games.

Lobi Stars defeated Bayelsa United 3-0 in emphatic fashion in their NPFL23 Matchday Four clash. Homegrown star Kumanga Suur scored twice to take his tally for the season to three goals before Umar Abba scored his second goal of the season to round off the scoring.

Nasarawa United held Gombe United to a 1-1 draw in their NPFL23 Matchday Four encounter at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe to pick up their first point of the season. Veteran striker Chinedu Ohanachom opened the scoring for the Solid Miners after 20 minutes before Taye Yusuf equalised for the home side from the penalty spot in the closing stages.

Shooting Stars picked up their first win of the season when they defeated newly-promoted ElKanemi Warriors 1-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The Oluyole Warriors struggled to break down their opponents before Samuel Tiza scored the winner in the 78th minute of the encounter.

Sunshine Stars defeated Abia Warriors by a lone goal in their NPFL23 Matchday Four clash in Akure. Samson Olasupo scored the winner for the Owena Waves to give them a first win of the season.

Newly-promoted Doma United held Wikki Tourist to a goalless draw at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi. The Savannah Tigers have now picked up five points from the opening four games this season.

Niger Tornadoes were held at home in their NPFL23 Matchday Four clash against Rangers. The Ikon Allah Boys have now failed to win any of their last two games, following their defeat to Rivers United last week.
