NPFL23 Matchday Seven: Remo Stars held by Plateau United as Lobi Stars extend lead

Remo Stars played out a 1-1 draw at home to Plateau United in their NPFL23 Matchday Seven clash in Ikenne. The Sky Blue Stars were looking to bounce back from a defeat last time out and went in front when defender Segun Olalere scored his first goal for the club. Plateau United equalised in the second half through Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga to ensure that Remo Stars dropped points at home for the first time this season.
Lobi Stars extended their lead atop the Group B standings when they defeated Dakkada 2-1 in their NPFL23 Matchday Seven clash. Lobi went in front early through Joseph Atule before the goalscorer produced an assist for Kumanga Suur to score his fourth goal of the season. Adewale Lasisi pulled one back for Dakkada in the second half. Lobi Stars are now unbeaten in six games this season.
Shooting Stars showed great spirit in Ibadan to come from behind and secure a 2-2 draw against Group A leaders Bendel Insurance. The Benin Arsenal took the lead inside the first minute through Imade Osarenkhoe before Sarki Ismael doubled their advantage in the first period. Malomo Taofeek and Olufemi Opeoluwa scored for the Oluyole Warriors to salvage a draw.
A Chidera Ezeh penalty was enough to hand Rangers a 1-0 win at home to Doma United in their NPFL23 Matchday Seven clash in Awka.
El-Kanemi Warriors held Akwa United to a 1-1 draw in Maiduguri, preventing the Promise Keepers from building on their win against Remo Stars. Cyril Olisema opened the scoring for Akwa United with his third consecutive goal before Agnaza Junior scored a late leveller for the home side.
Sunshine Stars won for the second week running as they dispatched Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Akure Township Stadium, with Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro in attendance. Udom Ekerette opened the scoring for the Owena Waves before Samson Olasupo added a second in the first half.
Abia Warriors played out a 1-1 draw against Wikki Tourists in their NPFL23 Matchday Seven encounter. John Peter headed the Umuahia Landlords in front before Abdul Salam found an equaliser for the struggling visitors in the 88th minute.
