NPFL24 Matchday Eight: Lobi Stars return to top, Remo Stars win at home

Lobi Stars took their place atop the NPFL24 standings after a 1-0 win over Sporting Lagos at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna. Chinedu Sunday scored the only goal of the game in the first half for Lobi Stars to go one point clear.
Remo Stars claimed a dominant 4-0 win over Gombe United in their encounter in Ikenne. Sikiru Alimi scored a brace to take his tally to seven for the season. His two goals were sandwiched by strikes from Aniekeme Okon and Franck Mawuena.
Kano Pillars edged rivals Enyimba 1-0 in their meeting at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Abah Adams scored the only goal of the game for Sai Masu Gida, who are now seventh in the standings.
Katsina United stunned Rivers United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium by a lone goal. Mansoor Saleh scored early in the second half to give his side maximum points for the encounter.
Rangers played out an exciting 2-2 draw against Sunshine Stars in their NPFL24 clash in Akure. Godwin Obaje opened the scoring for the visitors before Ibrahim Yusuf equalized. Moses Omodumueke scored to put his side ahead for the first time, before Emmanuel Jonas scored in the 90th minute to seal a point for Rangers.
Kwara United and Shooting Stars ended 1-1 despite the Oluyole Warriors going down to ten men. Malomo Taofeek gave them the lead, before Muhammed Alao found a late equalizer for the home side.
Plateau United ran away with a 3-1 win over Abia Warriors in their NPFL24 Matchday Eight meeting. Christopher Nwaeze, Barnabas Daniel and a Jerry Ogu own-goal put the Peace Boys in control before Meme Okike pulled one back for his side.
Niger Tornadoes and Bendel Insurance ended their encounter goalless, with neither side able to find a winner in the encounter.
